The Apparel Merchandiser supports the Visual Manager to lead a profitable and customer centric environment. Responsible for supporting all visual aspects of the department including; developing talent, maintaining consistency within visual presentation and applying merchant skills to create a compelling customer experience.
REPORTS TO: Apparel Visual Manager
PARTNERS WITH: Apparel Department Manager, Department Stylist
> An entrepreneurial spirit with a startup mentality to be a part of our new Anthropologie & Co stores
> An understanding of the Anthropologie culture and its appeal to the local market
> Ability to drive sales through excellent service, strong visual presentation, and a full understanding of the business
> Strong record of developing talented individuals at the management level
> Experience in fashion, specialty and lifestyle merchandising
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
> Recruits, hires, and retains top talent to build visual bench for the store and brand as well as maintains a succession strategy
> Promotes an environment of self-awareness and self- development
> Proven ability to create a sense of collaboration, inspiration and teaching
> Ensures that coaching and counseling is consistent and timely
> Ensures workshops and conference calls are well-planned, collaborative, educational and motivational
> Builds and maintains productive partnerships
> Communicates company, region and store goals consistently and effectively
> Possesses strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills
> Is an entrepreneur, takes smart risks with measurable results
> Executes visual plans and applies concept inspiration.
> Cultivates an environment of genuine customer connection by demonstrating extraordinary service, and leading by example
> Acts as a brand ambassador reflective of the company values and aesthetic
> Understands multi-channel business - implements processes and utilizes tools to better service the customer
> Supports store team to engage in local community via events and social media platforms
> Has a good understanding of local and core customer
AESTHETIC UNDERSTANDING & APPLICATION
> Has a strong understanding of trend and style that is reflective of the brand
> Oversees stock-to-sales processes and upholds presentation standards while effectively utilizing and maintaining department fixtures, structure and floor plan
> Supports product placement and outfitting that is reflective of trend, reinforces brand messaging, and inspires the customer
> Develops team to connect brand aesthetic with store Social Media platforms
> Expert on vendor, product knowledge and trend as it relates to the department
