We have a contract opportunity for a Project Manager Consultant in New York City. The Consultant will be working in the Energy Industry and he/she will be working with the AMI Project Management Organization to support the team and the overall project management aspects of the AMI project.

In this role, they will be expected to understand the AMI technology and its implementation at CLient, the processes & systems involved in executing the installation of our system across our service territory and support the development of new processes for the AMI project post-deployment

Candidate will learn and use the QuickBase, UtilityIQ, Logica WMS, CIS, and Profiled computer applications. They will be expected to troubleshoot field communication network performance issues, review engineering designs, create work packages for execution, monitor equipment inventory and perform administrative functions to support the process. Additionally, the workers will be expected to monitor and report out on progress and identify and address areas of concern.

The Consultant will also interact with vendors, internal company resources and external customers to facilitate the end to end process of ensuring the installation of a well-performing field communication network. The Consultant must be a self-starter that works well in teams and actively engages issues seeking resolution.

This is an hourly position with opportunity for overtime.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Agile, self-motivated learner
  • Must have strong communication skills with all stakeholders (verbal and written)
  • Ability to draft procedural and profess flow documents
  • Develop and deliver PowerPoint presentations to communicate status, work scope, and workflow
  • Experience with data analysis and interpretation and account /field/record correction
  • Experience interacting and setting appointments for troubleshooting and investigatory field visits
  • Experience on creating daily communications and reports
  • Experience working on repetitive tasks
  • Ability to converse with external customers to gain entry to buildings, set appointments and answer customer questions or concerns
  • Must be able to work in a team and as an individual contributor
  • Produce high quality of work and checks work frequently
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and potential resolution paths

Field Communication Design Review:

Ability to learn AMI and Legacy applications with proper training
Ability to review and prioritize a high volume of records in QuickBase and corresponding records in the UtilityIQ and ProField applications
Ability to review engineering recommendations for the installation of field communication network equipment including:
o Cellular signal strength data
o Location information
o Equipment characteristics
o Verify design recommendations meet performance standards
Displays initiative by resolving issues on their own and applying lessons learned to new situations
