The Vice President, Product Management (Ad and Content Experiences) will partner with the Content and Product Development teams to shape how acquired content & original productions manifest within the product experience, defining requirements based on content rights parameters & packaging constructs. They will be accountable for documenting, coordinating, and managing, strategically and tactically, all content aspects of the app/streaming experience, including both video content as well as related metadata to drive the customer experience The VP will have a focus in the advertising experience, taking the lead in defining product requirements for how advertising manifests within the product experience, and partner with both internal and external advertising partners for key integrations The ideal candidate is passionate about television, movies, entertainment, technology and possesses a deep understanding of the video streaming industry as well as the digital advertising space and is a champion for the consumer The VP can be located in either Los Angeles or New York The Daily. Lead the vision for content and advertising experiences we can create within the product, both near and long-term, for both Live/Linear and On Demand content, as well as new content and ad formats Create product \"documentation\" including product requirements and use cases, to clearly define needed capabilities, down to a detailed level, accounting for all formats of content (short & long form, Live and On Demand) and digital advertising within video streaming products (pre-roll, mid-roll, digital ad insertion, addressable advertising, interactive advertising, targeting/personalization, ad tech platforms, video formats, decisioning engines, etc.) Work tightly with Product Development team and UX/UI teams on requirements and wireframes/design development Define the advertising product capability roadmap, and work with Product Development to ensure feasibility and adjust where needed Work with peers in Product Experience to ensure alignment with general product requirements and integration into unified roadmap Clearly communicate the roadmap at all levels, including specific functionality offered at any given time point, to ensure all understand what a feature means and what the consumer will see Help define and articulate longer-term strategies and determine those that need runway of work earlier to achieve timeline targets Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and make recommendations based on data to improve the product. Research and analyze emerging trends in the marketplace and keep abreast of the competition to drive product requirements Understand and communicate consumer behavior for products and features. Utilize data-driven decision making for prioritizing product feature backlog Cultivate strong relationships among working teams and have exposure to senior leadership Ultimately will be held accountable for the launch of major, brand new product initiatives and for the subscribers and customer experience as a result of those products and product enhancements. The Essentials. 15 years? experience in managing or leading digital product management or related experience at an entertainment media company Extensive experience in streaming video products on tablets, phones, PCs, and other devices Deep knowledge of digital ad insertion, both linear and VOD advertising in a streaming environment, the analytics and technical capabilities needed to serve ads and report out on viewership Experience writing extensive requirements for digital advertising, and ability to execute upon those requirements with development teams High degree of technical knowledge to understand how the architecture implementation would affect the outcome of the consumer experience with the advertising Experience in an agile development process (Scrum, Kanban) strongly preferred Knowledge of competitive landscape including SVOD and OTT services. Ability to lead a team of product managers and guide them toward success across a large organization with many complexities Must be self-motivated and accountable Understanding of how to develop rapid prototypes, A/B testing, and iterative development practices. Ability to adapt rapidly in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities and the ability to react quickly, dynamically, and intelligently Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
