As a Sr. Database Administrator (DBA) at Washington County, you will be working on-site to support a growing County with the IT mission of:? Enable.? Support.? Always.? In addition to operational support, this position has lead responsibility on SQL Server standards and practices, technology guidance, planning, upgrades, and implementation of new systems. The Sr. DBA is a key member of the Application Support Team and reports to the Enterprise Business Application Manager. Occasional?after-hours and on-call support may be required for changes, upgrades, and troubleshooting.???The ideal candidate will possess advanced level experience in a multi-server SQL Server?environment supporting?24/7 operations and the ability to lead a team of database and systems professionals to achieve project goals and milestones. The?individual in this role should also be?customer focused, possess sophisticated technical knowledge of SQL Server 2005-2016, including reporting services,?SSAS,?SSIS, replication, and be experienced with data warehouse architecture. Designs, sizes and installs tables, stored procedures, functions, and views within the context of the database and platform on which it operates.?Establishes, administers, and modifies complex databases, coordinates with systems, operations, and technical support; and ensures database quality, integrity, and performance.?Provides complex technical assistance and training to support Information Systems (IS) Analysts and contractors in the development, testing and implementation of IS applications with primary focus on system impacts.?Monitors and oversees day-to-day operation, performance and space requirements of enterprise-wide databases that operate on County servers.?Plans and coordinates future development and use of the County''s complex database environment; and confers with primary database users to determine modifications or adjustments needed and develops and implements solutions.?Maintains, monitors, and improves database management system performance and space requirements; and implements changes to databases, as necessary.?Migrates current databases into new database structure, when required; and tunes databases and applications.?Generates and monitors database management reports/statistics for Division management reflecting trend and operational analysis; and advises management of required upgrades or replacement of current hardware or database version releases.?Provides secure environment for databases and processes; and establishes and enforces security guidelines for access, password expiration, and protection of computer resources.?Develops and maintains structure documentation; and formulates and enforces standards for data management.?Maintains data integrity with backup, archive, and recovery processes.?Prepares and maintains procedures for disaster recovery, performs database file restoration, and prepares application security reports.?Provides training, as necessary, to ITS staff or other key technology partners.?Leads and assists other database administrators in developing data management routines for data warehouse related functionality.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:?Bachelor''s Degree in computer science, or related field;?AND?Five (5) years of advanced database design and administration experience;?ORAssociate''s Degree in computer science or a related field;?AND?Seven (7) years of advanced database design and administration experience;?ORNine (9) years of advanced database design and administration experience.If you have completed education in a foreign college or university and are using this education to meet the minimum qualifications, you must provide documentation that the foreign education is comparable to that received within the United States'' accredited college or university system or your application will not be accepted.Additional Licenses, Certifications, Physical Abilities and Specialty Requirements:Must have the ability to arrange for timely transportation in order to attend appointments and meetings at locations throughout Washington County.Senior Database Administrator-SQL is the working title for this specific position.
